Besides, this idea could only truly work the first time it was done, since nobody knew what would be the result. This time around Anorith, the original least hated pokemon, had not a chance because people knew it won the first time. If anything that proves that these type of things can't be trusted a second time.
This reminds me I once read about a study that showed people's choices on polls where heavily influenced depending if they were shown the current results before choosing.
