>>38914329Yeah, it's sad. I actually skipped gen 7, even when the hype for SM was fucking ridiculous, I was feeling worn out already. Eventually, I stopped coming here too. I came back when I saw Let's Go was announced, to see what it was about. It wasn't the game for me either, so I left again. I'd seen them saying the next games would be for the long time fans, so when I saw they announced Sword and Shield, I came back to pokemon in general again. Played some of the old games, had fun for a few months. I was looking forward to getting more info on gen 8. Last week's direct wasn't excellent, but from it I got the feeling that finally GF was making decisions I personally liked it. I was hyped as fuck to see more today. And then, well, we all know what happened.
So I guess it's officially over for me. I'm not going to hate on sword and shield. The games are just not for me. Such is life. I hope that some people get to enjoy them the way I enjoyed the older games, at least. I'm still sad, though. I've been a pokemon fan for over twenty years. The pokemania was a big part of my childhood. It's silly to feel so attached to a franchise, I know, and I'm going to be just fine without pokemon in my life. But I can't help feeling a bit down about it.
To those of you who are sticking with pokemon, I sincerely hope you have tons of fun withthe new games.
