>>45759492I bought SwSh on release day, finished it, and I remember liking the game quite a lot. It had a really nice art style (despite weak visuals overall), gyms were really fun, waifus were on point, the music was good, curry dex was a really interesting way to implement some crafting system into Pokemon, and the whole thing was a fun little adventure. GF also implemented a lot of interesting online features, but I wasn't interested in that, so I only did a few raids and that's it.
It was still flawed of course. The game felt pretty damn small and short on content despite being technically the biggest in the series, graphics were kind of pathetic, Wild Area was a good idea with lazy execution, and zero voice acting was jarring.
Still, I certainly liked it better than XY and SM. People dogpiled on this game because they were mad about the dex and their own expectations (something similar happened to Cyberpunk 2077 recently, but hey, at least SwSh was playable and didn't take 8 years to develop), and you can't blame them. I hope that GF learns some good lessons from SwSh and makes a better game next time.
Also I fucking loved Gloria as a protagonist.
