There are two types of fusion: mega fusion (like Ash Greninja), and hyper fusion, where the human and Pokemon fully fuse into one (like that one manga but more even, less human focused). it takes a lot of bonding to achieve hyper fusion, and isn't revealed until the end of the game, with your rival/best friend achieving it and WHOOPING YOUR ASS. Then you play a new game+ type story where some things alter and you learn about hyper fusion and achieve it also.
