In UU, it's not half bad. Magician is better than you might expect, especially if the opponent swaps in something that attempts to check Delphox and gets its vital item stolen from it. Also, the mechanics of Magician are such that if it steals a choice item, it does not get locked into the attack it used to steal the item. Additionally, it has good bulk for a special sweeper.
Its move pool, while shallow, still more than gets the job done with Flamethrower/Heat Wave, Psychic/Psyshock and Shadow Ball giving great coverage and hitting a lot of things really hard. After that, it can pack Calm Mind to boost itself to sweep, or Will-O-Wisp to surprise and punish a lot of physical switch-ins who want to try to take advantage of Delphox's lower (but not terrible) physical defense.
It's inferior to Victini as a pure sweeper, but if played as a mix sweeper/debuffer, it can do a lot for a team.
