Pikachu is the mascot, so he's the only justifiable solo pokemon. The ideal would be to have a PT from every gen + Pikachu, but since that is pretty much impossible, the best course of action would be Pika + some standout trios. Maybe have PT's from Kanto (Squirtle, Ivysaur, Charizard), Hoenn or Sinnoh (hard to choose because they're both very well regarded trios, but for Hoenn it'd be either Mudkip/Grovyle/Blaziken or Treecko/Combusken/Swampert. Sinnoh would be Piplup/Grotle/Infernape or better yet, all the final stages), and maybe a Kalos PT with the obvious Chespin/Braixen/Greninja. That would've lent us 10 relevant pokemon reps that fit better with the spirit of the series. We could even have Victory Themes that are actually different for every region, finally
