big mistakes in my HG run were:
>assuming Picnicker Gina would give a Leafstone eventuallythat shit is pure luck, and nothing is guaranteed.
>even considering using Growthnot worth it in gen 4. in gen 1, it "essentially" boosts 2 stats at once. in future gens (5 and onward?), it boosts attack AND special attack, making it quite good (and it gets doubled in sunlight). but gen 4? meh.
>not having a plan for Jasminebiggest speed-bump in the game imo. putting aside ground-type, Magnemite and Steelix cover each other so well that it almost feels like no one Pokémon can deal with both. STAB thunderbolt and Iron Tail is a pain to deal with even if you aren't weak to it.
>deleting Leech Seedno idea what I was thinking. it was a moment of foolishness.
also my opinion on bellsprout and oddish have increased somewhat. they learn the powder moves pretty fast all things considered, even if you don't want to invest heavily in them. Oddish line easily gains HP draining moves, but Bellsprout doesn't get anything good until super late. shame about the scarcity of Leaf Stones.
>>55197056maybe after a short break. I've tried LeafGreen nuzlocke attempts repeatedly in between the failed HeartGold nuzlocke attempts but it's strangely difficult. It feels like critical hits are very common compared to Blue version. Crits in gen 1 are bugged to scale off the base speed of the Pokémon's species, so it makes sense that crits would be uncommon in the early game.
