>>42315834I know this is bait, but i'll break it down anyways
>Pokemon The only legitimate point here, it's always been stupid, but we've never pretended it wasn't, or just skipped the innitial versions to wait for the inevitable follow-up.
>BotWLackluster, but ultimately it's content that adds onto a complete game
>TornaYou're either taking the piss, or retarded to lump this in with the rest. Torna's virtually new game compared to Xeno 2. New maps, new plot, different battle system, music, etc.
>Octo Expansion Splatoon 2 was already a complete game, on that recieves a host of free updates. The DLC doesn't offer anything the main game was withholding, it's just challenges and some worldbuilding
>Fighter passIt's a fighting game, one that already went above and beyond by including every character from every past game, along with a bunch more. So again, not withholding anything from the main game.
Sword and shield on the other hand:
>Games released>Overall experience is far shorter than previous games>Main selling point can be fully explored and exhausted within the first few hours>No expansions, additions, etc to it in the postgame>Little to no postgame in general, with what's there just being the standard title legendary quest from others games bloated into a 2 hour boss rush>Standard postgame legendary pokemon are absent>Mythical pokemon are absent>Barely 2 months later>Already have two complete "DLC", with the first dropping in 6 months>Single wild area per DLC>Singular gym leader "boss fight" per DLC>Several postgame legendary pokemon, including the standard trio>Potential mythical pokemon as wellThey developed content alongside the base game only to keep it out and sell it back to us separately right after the release.
