Dragon as a type is not spectacular by any means, however most Dragon Pokemon are good. As a TYPE it really is only good against itself and weak to much more.
Poison is considered bad by casuals because there are a ton of shitty Poison types, yet on paper it's actually very balanced (especially this gen)
