>>54341584As you can see from my evaluations, I do consider some better or worse than others. It's simply that it's not like any gen is free from major issues, and at least in terms of the 2D games and more or less XY I don't see much point in arguing about it.
I figured people would understand what the too much water meme is supposed to be referring to at this point, but specifically it's how water routes tend to be very boring. Even RSE aside, every sea route in whatever game will have the same visuals, the same music, populated almost exclusively by water types which heavily limits the kind of mons that can show up and how much of the dex has to be taken up by random water mons, they're often just bland hallways in design, and until gen 7 or something there's also that thing where if you go to check something on the patches of land, every time it gives you the "ARE YOU SURE YOU WANNA SURF" prompt, which is a small complaint, but one of those little annoying things that grates on you over time.
RSE's land sections are very good and extremely memorable, it's been years since I last played Emerald but I can still picture many of them fairly clearly. It's just that half of the region is water
As for the gen 1 bugs, sure, for the most part, but they also aren't too difficult to trigger, and are actually related to gameplay. I find that more worth mentioning that something like SV's bugs, which seem to be purely visual and mostly restricted to multiplayer, although it is still an embarrassing display and I'm not attempting to defend it.
