6vs6 singles is a broken meta. To make it tolerable you have to ban tons of shit, and the list just keeps getting longer. Maybe in gen 4 it was still fine, but in gen 5 Smogon really jumped the shark. Most of that was GF's fault with genies and power creep, but they stopped caring about 6vs6 singles after gen 2 anyway so it ain't worth getting mad over. Now in gen 6, Smogon is full of newfag whiner-babies who banned any new thing that threatened to drastically change the face of gen 5 OU 2.0.
Now in Alola you can get perfect IV Pokemon (even legends) without breeding or resetting. Now the only reason to go there is if you bought into the "Smogon knows best" meme, or you love 6vs6 singles and won't play anything else. At which point I say, "stay in your containment website."
Battle Spot formats are hardly perfect, but they are much more balanced than 6vs6 would be with as few bans as dubs or 3vs3 can get away with.
There is literally nothing wrong with Blaziken, Greninja, Aegislash, etc., that you can't easily overcome in 3vs3 or dubs with a bunch of "RU" shitmon and some intelligently planned items and move sets.
There is literally no excuse for genie cancer, though, in any format outside Ubers or similar dubs rulesets.
