So what does this all mean for the main games if it's well received? I know this has the spin off debuff and those don't actually do so great but since it's getting main game publicity because it's made by GF I expect 10 to 12 million sales at the very least, will next generation finally be the best 3D entry? Think about it:
>won't need to cut corners in the scope of the world, can hire another team to pad out the yearly release contract with a random game
>will likely have less obtrusive story because it's more exploration oriented
>likely no more dex cut because it would seem too shameless considering they can just copy paste so much shit from Sword Shield
>could have the best 3D entry modding scene since it will be likely made in some super popular engine + open world pokemon just makes too much sense to not go crazy on it
>world and movement a bit more dynamic, more like it's 2005 instead of 1998
>not a remake so it will be cool for shiny hunting/nuzlocke because it's more likely to have all the old + new (hopefully cool/cute looking) mons
>already made the grassy looking open world in Legends so they'll make something a bit more novel to put on screenshots/trailers
>SO OPTIMISTIC IT WON'T HAPPEN BUT IT WOULD BE NICE ANYWAY MODE: Monolith gets hired to put some work on the world design/programming like they did with Zelda and we get somewhat better graphics that don't run like dogshit
I know doomposting about the franchise is at an all time high even among hardcore Nintendo fans but how unlikely is all this to happen? The 3D games are so lame even just carrying over the good from Legends with new gen content and not horrible graphics would make it the best one, what even is left to ruin?
