There IS a theory suggesting that entering and re-entering Safari's may give you better luck. As in, enter safari, encounter the pokemon, leave, and enter again (first encounters are supposedly luckier). It's not 100% proven, but many of us, myself included have found shinies this way. But again, not 100% proven, and simply running about in the safari will get you a shiny eventually anyway, so dont bother with that if you dont want to.
