A lot of /vp/ like to shit on anime Serena just because they wrongly think her character was "muh Satoshi." I personally think that as far as ashime characters go, she's one of the most relatable and best-developed. Not that that's saying much, but she gets a bad rap simply because it's "cool" to bash a character who wants the protagonist's cock.
I'd be lying if I said her having a phox didn't make me like her more tho. I actually didn't like her phox at first because it was too much of a prissy prima donna, but once it became a Braixen, it was best phox: smug, snarky and based all around.
