Chespin's head thing looks awfully silly
Fennekin is the first fire starter I actually like since Cyndaquil
Froakie is everything that the last 2 gens' water starters should have been: Not obscenely cute but still retaining what a first evo should look like
Sylveon doesn't look enough like the previous eeveelutions at all, its eyes and proportions are enough to make it seem fakemon
Mewtwoformtwo's head loop, extra long head tail, and simplified grubbers make it seem like a half baked pre-evolution more than an alternate form
Xerneas is a well-done legendary stylistically and choicewise, it's nice to have something that isn't a dragon or bird as a main legendary again
Yveltal, while remniscient of Lugia, manages to have a fresh color scheme and isn't overdesigned, I like it
Pidgey 5.0 is great, we're finally deviating from the last 3 Pidgey reboot designs significantly. Colors, body shape, and concept are beautifully unique and cute. I look forward to using one on my team.
Triforce-face tries too hard to be cute, is conceptually vague. Two stars because of typing.
Panda seems to have a certain smugness lost in the last few generations. Even if its design is a bit simplistic and forced, I welcome the addition.
Gogoat is perfect. There's been a lack of good, four-legged Bro-tier Pokemon, which he fulfills. He has enough bells and whistles to seem rare, but maintains a solid and familiar body shape to avoid the overdesigned look. We've yet to have a Goat Pokemon as well.
Soundbatwyvern could've gone somewhere nice, but failed. The colors all clash, he has spikes on his wings, sound ears, a tuft on his back, claws, flesh wings in the armpits in ADDITION to regular wings. Too much.
Krabby 4.0 gets one star as opposed to none because gamefreak managed to at least give us a blue crustacean this time. Too many water crabs/lobsters though.
Kelp bro is fucking awesome. Something that looks sickly and revolting, original in concept, and with a lot of potential. (Cont.)
