I think you guys are drawing a bit of a false dichotomy here. Not only can you get dog beds for humans, but the incredibly wide variety of Pokemon body plans means dog beds of various sizes make a lot more sense for Pokemon than regular beds do. In the 1980s tech Mystery Dungeon setting I'm working on, such beds are the most popular among city dwelling Pokemon for exactly that reason. (a more modern iteration on the hay beds we see in the PMD games)
Moreover, it seems as if the short was suggesting Gardevoir sleeps kneeling up, kind of like how DnD elves go into a trance rather than truly sleep. If that's the case, a regular bed would be completely useless, but a super-soft thing you can comfortably kneel on is perfect.
I don't see why a Pokemon can't be more than a mere pet but also still find a dog bed comfy.
