VGC is the still official format for pokemon period, and thats not gonna change anytime soon. Nothing wrong with singles either, I personally prefer doubles and the way strategies are in doubles to singles, but I get why a lot of people like singles
What I do think is really strange though is how a lot of people into singles COMPLETELY dismiss doubles entirely compared to singles, like if people want less stall and defensive focus and shorter matches but dont want to play VGC, then literally just play doubles like literally if you dont want stall then its literally right there
