SM Ash was designed to just be a semi-reboot, a more relaxed and in-experienced Ash. And with most of the characters not being Anime-Exclusive, the stakes would be lowered, cause of how Ash has barely developed any rivalry with these characters, unlike Alain or Shota (Sawyer). It would feel like they only did it after the Backlash of Kalos, a literal, hollow, empty, victory. One that might make you say, “Was it truly worth it?”
