>>12267301The region doesn't have 'formal' art because nobody has bothered to do any. This is the basic layout but as you can see, it leaves a lot to the imagination. Still, you should be able to make a small map version of it. The dimensions of the area aren't fixed btw, that's just how they worked out when the image was put together. You can mix those up for clarity, as long as the connections stay the same.
As to why it looks so odd, it was the easiest way for edits to be made while voting was going on. Making a fancy map for each change would have been time consuming. Sadly it never got properly updated to be more in line with the concept art you were using
