You can pretty much invest in whatever megas you want and you'll still find some way to profit. Pretty much every mega outside of F has some sort of decent usage (even some of the F-tier ones are pretty good, mainly Mega Sharpedo and Mega Banette; it's just that there are better options).
Anything that looks bulky will work well with a large group of raiders, and anything glass cannon-y will work better in solo raids. Everything else you should max out the mega level of and save enough mega energy for when an event comes around where you'll want to mega-evolve them; they'll pretty much function as a long-lasting candy booster.
