>>19267432Like other anons pointed out, he did the same thing with Infernape. Infernape's Blaze was pretty much its Mega Evolution and it won every single battle it used Blaze in. Paul tried to convince Ash to use Blaze in every battle because Blaze was pretty much Ash's "push to win" mechanism, and since he already learned to not abuse power with Charizard back in Johto, continuity came in and showed that Ash remembered this lesson and refused to spam Blaze because he would be stooping down to Paul's level and he wanted to win battles fairly. He only ever used Blaze when he actually needed it and he'll do the same thing with Mega Evolution.
