The tie was randomized.
The combined Focus Blast/Hydro Cannon shot pierces Druddigon in the chest, launching him back and toppling him over. His strong ambition refuses to let him go down like a CHUMP though, so he pushes himself to get off the ground and back in the game.

He notices that his opponent is locked within a rest turn. Hydro Cannon took too much power out of him, and now the ninja must recharge his batteries for a turn in order to be able to do anything else. Until then, he's dead weight.

And anything goes.

Druddigon smiles.

Greninja is in the middle of reading The Great Gatsby, particularly speaking the part of the book that hits too close to home. He has no idea that Druddigon is approaching him, as the book is just /that/ interesting/

Deciding to put all of his force into this next turn, Druddigon executes a mighty Superpower, attacking Greninja and ruining his book reading rest with a supereffective charge of overwhelming menace. Greninja is tossed aside, letting out a croak as he skids across the battlefield.

Shaking his head, Greninja tosses the book aside and returns to the fight, his resting now over. Prematurely yes, but still. That Superpower was certainly powerful no doubt, it'd be best to avoid getting rammed like that again at all costs.
