Team Rocket's goal was to protect the world from going to war and destroying itself with the use Pokemon. By stealing strong Pokemon from trainers, Team Rocket hoped to upset the balance of power of Trainers and their Pokemon in the world, thus less ammunition in a war. By doing so they unite the people to work toward defeating a common enemy and warring with one another. Denouncing the evils of "truth & love" refers to letting go of one's own restrictions and morality to be as ruthless as possible, thus spurring technological advancement instead of the reliance of Pokemon to combat their problems.
