I posted
>>52621185 a couple days ago, speaking of my horrible experience with the Azumarill that decided to Double Edge at 1 HP and how I had forgotten to turn off autosave (RIP Sodapop Sr).
Today I decided I had it in my heart to try again, and so I triple checked that autosave was off, flew back to Casseroya, saved, and made my sandwich.
The first time 30 minutes was a total bust, and so I reset, made a new sandwich, and tried again.
Within 8 minutes I saw the telltale seafoam green of a shiny Marill, saved, and then caught her in a Dive Ball on my first try. Her name is Sodapop Jr in honor of the fallen.
As I still had 22 minutes left on my buff, I decided to try searching for shiny Iron Valiant again, so I flew to Area Zero and headed to Research Station 3 to the cave.
As some guy on YouTube said, this hunt is annoying because a lot of Greavard packs spawn no matter what sparkling power you have, and they are also difficult to see to avoid, with only their lil white candles with purple flames sticking out of the ground. I was pretty good at avoiding them, and I was continuing another lap when I spotted something weird.
Was that a yellow candle?
I saved again, and sure enough, it was a shiny Greavard-- my first full odds (well, I have the shiny charm, but still) shiny in at least half a decade!
I caught him in a Premier Ball (nothing I had matches that brownish yellow) and named him Bone Daddy.
When I had less than 10 minutes left on the timer, I FINALLY found my Iron Valiant. I saved, and it only took two tries to catch it in a Dream Ball. I named him Zireael.
My autism dictates that if I catch a Shiny, it's earned a permanent place on my team. So now I have perhaps the worst-balanced squad in the game. Oh well, it's a problem I'm happy to have!
I'm currently waiting for it to turn night time in game so Bone Daddy can evolve, so I'm wasting time taking cute picnic pics.
