When I was around seven I used to kill clover mites (tiny red insects that almost looked like spiders) en masse during Summer. I'd crush them with my finger, spit on them to "drown" them, and just generally kill them for fun. That they left a red blood-like stain was even more entertaining for me.
I haven't deliberately killed insects that aren't actively getting in my face since though, I feel bad in retrospect since clover mites are completely harmless.
