However I do think Sword and Shield could be used as a basis to tell a great story about the exploitative nature of the Pokémon League in the Galar region, where trainers and Pokémon do battle solely for the entertainment of the masses, putting both the Pokémon and the region's ecosystem itself at risk.
The game lightly bumps into this topic but it's glazed over in 5 minutes, a game that actually focused on it and didn't treat the Pokémon world as some kind of utopia where everyone is happy would be really good imo.
