I think its better that way, because it would have felt odd for her to go from no dream to achieving it so quickly. I'd rather we get deeper looks at her character, determination and personality through moments with Ash.
She also never gets on your ass at unnecessary moments and is an overall fun and positive companion. Not just with Ash, but with everyone to almost insane extents. She usually tries to help or offer positive reinforcement anytime she can.
So the best thing really is that there's not any huge cons with her. I suppose that's part of the reason many don't like her.
She's too good for this world
