X/Y are the worst main series games. Nearly everything about it is awful. The one thing I didn't dislike which may actually be one of the more unpopular things (at least on /vp/) were mega evolutions. I would of preferred to just have regular evolution of course however.

Gen 7 was okay - not great, but not as terrible as people make it out to be. I liked the idea of doing something different besides gyms. These kind of creative decisions to change up the formula is okay in my opinion, unlike what they did with Gen 8 where they may as well just delete like 75% of the older generation Pokemon.

Not sure if this is unpopular or not, but Gen 5 was the peak of Pokemon. It wasn't perfect, but it was the best yet. Certainly there were things about it I disliked like the starters for example being a major one, however that part isn't unpopular.

This may also just be unpopular on /vp/, but I actually liked ORAS. After X/Y made me question if I outgrew Pokemon ORAS made me realize that nope X/Y was just dogshit.

Following that comment about ORAS, RSE were actually my least favorite games until X/Y. ORAS actually made me like Hoenn.

Typhlosion It has been one of my favorite Pokemon ever since.

Probably Empoleon. Torterra is cool too though. Dislike pretty much all the primate Pokemon so I know it wasn't Infernape.

First time I disliked them all, but ended up choosing Samurott. Dewott is so much cooler.

Again disliked them all, but Greninja grew on me.

Decidueye Before the evolutions were revealed and we only had Litten, Popplio, and Rowlet to go on. I was hyped for Litten and thought Rowlet was the worst of the 3. Then when we finally got all the evolutions I was sorely disappointed by Incineroar and thought Decidueye was pretty cool.
