You know, it's not so much the fact that I think these shouldn't be evolutions of a starter, because that's exaggerating.
It's strange, because I feel these designs actually HAD potential, but in the end came out kind of badly executed, although that doesn't necessarily makes them bad. It's just that they kind of fail in some points.
>Rowlett
>Absolutely magnificent design ruined by the extra patterns in its wings, it just makes it too overcrowded at least in my honest opinion, although the pattern in his fingers can still stay
>Also, how does he suddenly pull feathers that somehow feel like structured arrows? Shouldn't these be merely feathers rather than arrow feathers? Are those already made by him? Where does he keep them? It feels like a unanswered question at most
>The mermaid concept is so unique and perfect in here, but I feel like they kind of ruined it with unnecessary accessories to make it too elegant which also makes the audience rather question its gender. Why couldn't the hair be loose? The starfish is okay, as it fits the ocean theme, but its head veil also feels unnecessary (not the pearl/bubble effect which forms a sort of tiara, but the veil above it). I'm not sure what happened in the end of its tail, but why couldn't it have been like a actual mermaid tail fish? Instead, it just adds another veil, again to show off its elegance. I'm probably the only one who thinks less is more. I don't actually mind the horns, because they might help it swim better underwater
>Litten is where I'm absolutely lost here. It feels like they didn't know what to do with it here. I appreciate the idea and concept/reference to Tiger Mask, but at the same time, it could have been so much more. The fire belt in this case is what sticks out the most, it just feels tacky. I expected better from Game Freak. If you're gonna make a Tiger Mask reference, at least do it right. I feel they had too much trouble with Litten's color scheme overall
