Saying that it's more fun than the Sun/Moon snoozefest or XY, the two worst entries in the series, does not mean very much. Even disregarding the poor quality of the game, GF has treated their consumer base with contempt and lied through their teeth on multiple occasions. The only thing I will agree with here is to buy it secondhand and not give GF your money to encourage this behavior.
