>>23353960>One of the first things that strikes me is the lack of big improvements. Gen II had the Special split, held items, breeding, Dark- and Steel-types and so on, Gen III had Natures and Abilities along with new EV/IV systems, Gen IV had physical/special split and online trading/battling, Gen VI introduced Mega Evolutions and Fairy-type, but Gen V... Gen V didn't really give us anything.Gen V gave us infinite TM (which is un-fucking-belieavably useful in game and for competitive breeding) and other small details like the extra empty section in the bag, and most of them.
Physical/special split was a much needed ret-con that GF was too retard to understand back in the '90s should have been present from the very beginning.
Many of the improvements you listed were needed because GF completely fucked up the balancement of the game, or where extremely obvious to keep up with the times changing (i.e. online battles).
Also, talking about megas and fairies, that finally put a nail on any hope for balancing in this game, is simply hilarious.
>Another major flaw is the quality of the designs. Gen V Pokedex is the biggest so far but it's really a mixed bag. You can hide behind the cool Bug-types as much as you want but you can't escape the fact that outside of /vp/ pretty much everyone hates most of Gen V Pokemon. It's so far the only Generation where no starter is a fan-favorite since they're all hated, and in addition to that concepts and/or designs of Trubbish, Klink, Vanillite, elemental monkeys, genies, musketeers, Gothita, Throh, Sawk, Druddigon, Timburr, Patrat, and all of their evolutionary relatives are universally agreed to be among the worst in the entire series.I see opinions, not facts. Also, why people shit on Gen V designs so much? Name one "bad" design and I can name another one from any other gen. I personally appreciate each gen's designs, I can live with some meh looking mons here and there.
