Pokemon is to RPGs what Kirby is to platformers, they are baby's firts games intended to introduce young players to both the world of vidya and its specific genre. The thing is, despite being a decent (at best) monster collecting game, or being baby's first games (nothing wrong about that) pokemon is a shitty game. You should try and expand your taste and vidya experience by playing other games on the Rpg genre like the Dragon Quests, Final Fantasy, Phantasy Star, Seiken Densetsu, Mother, Xeno, etc.
