Looking at the leaks, it is nice to see how closely their artwork matched the world (the North half anyway). They made a-lot of art for different building styles, statues, plants or decorations for every major area. Gens 8-9 are too reliant on massive "Open World!" fields with poor detail + technical hiccups holding them back.
Gen 7 didn't look bad exactly, but it's a tropical region with less environments than Hoenn.
