I have a different kind of story.
In the summer of 2000, a year after Pokémon came to
France, I moved to the south of the country because of my father, and lost my GB and Red version in the process. That fucked me up badly, but i had my Playstation and games I liked (Crash Bandicoot Trilogy, Spyro the Dragon, Tekken 3, Soul Reaver, MGS, Dino Crisis...) so it was easier to recover.
Then came the PS2 and I forgot Pokémon, though it was still in my mind, but well hidden.
Flash forward to 2006. I leave my university to move back to my hometown because I found a job there. my father was supposed to help me, but he fucked up and it ended up with my all my books, my PS2 and all my games in the middle of nowhere. I was mad as fuck, that goes without saying. Here, my childhood bro gave me his GBA SP since he wasn't using it anymore, along with a Red Version for my birthday.
That was the spark that reignated my passion for Pokémon. Next, I got Fire Red and Emerald and had fantastic fun.Since then, I got the DS Lite and 3DS XL along with Pokémon games.
In december 2013, same Childhood Bro bought the Xbone and gave me his Xbox 360 along with SCV and Halo CE Anniversary. Those games and the ones I bought after (Halo 3 and Reach, Kingdoms of Amalur, MGR and Dragon's Dogma) allow me to play something other than Pokémon and right now, waiting for ORAS, so it's somehow a good thing.
TL;DR: I owe my childhood bro a big one for making me come back into Pokémon.
