Few more oddities: going into the Bag menu and then backing out without using an item gives you the "items are banned" message, even during wild encounters.
On that note, trying to use the potion from the PC or the oran berry the Delibird gives you in battle gives you the "items are banned" message, but still uses up the items despite not healing any damage.
Trainer battle music did not kick in until the climax fight against the lazy hiker at the top of the route. Is that intentional? UPDATE: answer is "yes." Certainly makes it stand out.
The foreman back at the start of the route claims he gives you an item after defeating the lazy hiker, but no pop-up message shows and no item appears in the Bag.
My man, I can't believe you'd ever be so modest about this, I'm loving your work so far.
