Don't be retarded. Secret bases were in the original game and a fun feature to play around with. I'm not happy about customization being taken away either, but taking out a feature of a game in a REMAKE of said game is fucking stupid.

Something can be intended to be ugly and still well designed. See Dark Souls, Shin Megami Tensei, Silent Hill, etc. This is not one of those instances.

This looks like they spray painted a fucking durian and clamped it on half a Glalie with a goddamn hinge.

A majority of these new Megas have been utter shit, and piece of crap can just be tossed into the pile. At least Steelix looks good.

Pikachu was EVERYWHERE. Pokemon itself was EVERYWHERE. Many kids's first exposure to the franchise was the anime, and Pikachu was the most consistent and recurring character in it. Once he was established as the mascot of the series, there was no reason to suddenly change his appearance and potentially alienate possible customers who are more likely to buy out of familiarity. Pikachu's cry is also just as iconic as the Pokemon logo itself, and there's no reason to change it to a less cute and unique "RAIIII".
