>>56419215I ran the numbers, and while Darkest Lariat deals a LOT less damage with full defense and HP EVs with perfect IVs (28.2% average compared to 50.9% on my perfect defense IV, mediocre HP IV no EVs Malamar), the Shell Bell still does absolutely nothing into a tera shield (heals single-digit HP) so you're still getting wrecked fast. Maybe it's possible to deal significant damage to the Incineroar if you play slowly and carefully (you absolutely need healing cheers, which may have negligible effect if you roll low), but it's still pointless if your teammates are fainting non-stop and aren't healing you. It's impossible to get shit done before the tera shield goes up because the strategy requires fainting and the second faint (there's always some teammate who faints before you get to act again after fainting the first time) results in the tera shield going up. I maintain that this strategy is impossible to win with unless your teammates actually pull their weight.
>Yes anon, the terrible rando is you. When I don't follow advice from /wfg/ telling me to faint my mon as part of a strategy that totally works, I pretty much never faint during tera raid battles and often carry the group. At the very least I'm never dead weight and especially not counterproductive as random teammates often are. (People online simply never seem to get that it's better to just do nothing at all if you're repeatedly fainting without accomplishing anything.)
