The first being that nostalgia isn't nearly as powerful as people like to portray. The fact that remakes/reboots of ANYTHING never do as well as beloved classics (and often don't even do "well" in their own right) is testament to that.
The other being that it's not an argument in a game where you're providing new childishly named moves, screwing with stats, removing the previously used method of wild battle, including the way things are captured and encountered, adding Megas and other formes, and adding more handholding where it didn't previously exist etc.
