charizard pandering is awful and i utterly despise it but i love charizard itself. there's a reason it got so popular when pokemon was in its heyday, but that doesn't excuse the blatant preferential treatment it's gotten since gen 6. it wouldn't even be a big deal if the kanto starters just snuck their way into every future region, it's fine to have them around. the problem is the fucking super forms and shit like leon being a walking charizard advertisement, especially when now more than ever it feels like people's favorite pokemon need official validation to not be considered useless trash or filler.
