Also back then, only some very specific Stage 1 or 2 Pokemon could hit for more than 30 damage, and that was for lots of energies
Meaning hitting for weakness was very important since it meant getting a KO without investing in something huge, and having a good resistance was also very important because it could mean taking literally no damage from your opponent's entire deck
You use Porygon as a pivot. It tanks with resistance, then switches your opponent's weakness so you can OHKO off a retreat.
This Porygon and the Vending S1 one are a lot better at it, though, because they have more HP, free retreat, and an actual damaging move.
