The more need there is to build Pokemon, the more gameplay you can squeeze out of it, and this is with very light tera raid grinding. Pretty minimal, actually.
There's also a vanity aspect, since I'll do shiny hunting, size hunting and balltism. Ribbon collecting too (though thats mostly BDSP tbf). Lastly, I find myself just enjoying the simple act of being in the world while doing these things. Not that Paldea is exemplary, or even really particularly good as far as open worlds go, but physically being in a world with Pokemon of (somewhat) accurate size and habitat depictions is a sort of thing that tickles my 'tism and satisfies a wish i've had since I was a stupid ass kid. Basically, if I need to grind shit ill sometimes take the "5 fps scenic route".
