I know the Latis are capable of telepathy and the manga implies they are also capable of shapeshifting. You could use this as an opportunity to explore backstory, if only briefly--maybe they had an experience with the Latis in the past, each of them seeing a different one, and were inspired to take up psychic study? Or, maybe the result of this encounter was their psychic abilities?
I could see you possibly writing this where Tate and Liza ping-pong perspectives so that you can expand upon each of them as a stand-alone character, despite being psychic twins.
