People who walk aren't immune to obesity, but your calorie intake rate has to vastly outweigh your output in order to achieve a gain. I say "was" my concern though because by that logic the food of the land would probably be an easier base to orient such a society to grow more fat. Unova and Alola would probably have an easier time based on their delicacies, but there are so many restaurants in Kalos as well, ones that would value flavor and portion size over healthiness if they're anything like our restaurants.
