There is a way around this that can save you some Poke though. When you buy items from the mart, the prices inflate, but it gradually goes down over time until it normalizes to the base price (in the Ultra Ball's case, it's 2000 Poke). So frequently buying in small, affordable, reasonable chunks will be easier on your wallet. You'll spend less Poke buying 10,000 Ultra Balls in small doses than you will buying 10,000 Ultra Balls all at once.
This doesn't apply to Proteins or Master Balls though. Once those go up, they're up for good. Thankfully they have a cap, and they never inflate after that.
