>>21492415We free some Pokémon, there's a room my character refuses to go into because it has some awful smell to it (probably some experiments), Archer is hanging out by Giovanni's room waiting for me.
Upon beating him, he tells me if I want to stop Team Rocket so badly I can go fight him.
Giovanni explains to me his true intentions. When his wife died, he vowed to set the world on fire, and he's been working on a machine called the Devil's Prism that will enable him to control Mewtwo.
He informs me that he's not going to let me stop him, and battles me. Despite a couple edgy-sounding lines, I do like the idea of a villain who wants to destroy the world just for the hell of it since he lost what was important to him.
Giovanni comes equipped with a Lv. 39 Murkrow, Lv. 39 Rhyhorn, Lv. 39 Nidorina (I know Giovanni canonically does use one, but there are just way too many goddamn Nidoran line Pokémon used by major NPCs in this game), and a Lv. 41 Kangaskhan that downed three of my four Pokémon thanks to Fake Out, Dizzy Punch, and Nidorina's setting spikes.

Upon beating him, THEN he gets a little too edgy. He tells me he apologizes for trying to off me and my friends on the S. S. Anne... but only because if that happened we wouldn't be able to experience him succeeding, and that he'd rather have us feel the pain of him obliterating the region. Then he has Arianna escort me out.
