Red was.... actually kinda easy. Spikemuth took care of Pikachu and baited out Espeon. Medali switched into a Psychic and took the spdef drop, turning a possible 3 more hits into just 2 or even one if a crit happened. Scariest part of the fight for sure. Shadow Ball barely did less than half, but then it did just more, preventing a possible sweep. Snorlax came out... and from what a previous anon said, I thought it'd be best not to switch, but to sacrifice Medali. Striaton, literally countered Snorlax, but Body Slam was dangerously close to killing in the next hit so I prayed and went for a triple kick... hit 2 times, just barely avoiding the KO only to barely survive back. I couldn't risk a miss, so I had to go for a weak rock smash, hoping for a defense drop in preparation for the inevitable Full Restore... which didn't happen? Charizard came out, and while I probably could've switched, it was risky as I had no flying resists for wing attack... which Charizard didn't use, sorry Striaton. Seafolk took care of Charizard and Canalave took care of Venusaur. Blastoise luckily had to go for a blizzard cause sun was up, so Seafolk took that pretty well. Toxic+Giga drain got me pretty far until red hp... to which Red didn't use a full restore (I checked bulbapedia afterwards, and he does???). Lumiose sat and looked pretty the entire time.
Tbh, I think you could comfortably fight gsc Red at 60 as long as you have answers (and willing to sac a few mons), but I'm probably not going to fight him or do Kanto post game stuff again until HG, cause it's waaaay too much grinding if barely anything survives Lance. Still pretty fun.
