It's been SO MANY YEARS that I've seen the pokemon anime and I just saw and it blew my mind. Yeah, sure the art is not top notch but it fits the anime feel and gives fluidity to the animation. Ash seems like a kid, yeah, but he doesn't have that cheesy and dumb air he used to have. Things look promising.
