I know I'm using mons other than what they have in Adventures, but I honestly can't see Blue not using Blastoise and Leaf not using Venusaur.
Slugma is available in GSC Kanto and Yanma is available in the Sevii Islands.
I also thought I'd have Leaf be the one to go to Mount Moon; if you lose to her there, she takes a fossil depending on which defense stat your team is higher in and uses Rapidash and Omastar/Kabutops instead of Magcargo and Lapras.
