There are some huge flaws with your Beach Town map man. First of all, it is way too fucking huge. It is supposed to be about the same size as Dacapo or Tremol Town. Right Now it's probably about the size industrial city will end up being. It's goddamned more than four times bigger than the hometown. The second issue is that you make maps as though you've never played a game of pokemon ever. So in pokemon games there aren't usually (any examples at all that I can recall) 1 tile wide paths in towns, overly round terrain shapes and sporadic placement of decorations like trees or lamp posts. GF embraces uniformity and geometricity in its mapping and you have not to the extent that is necessary to meet the style we aim for. So make all the paths in town either two or three tiles wide. Place the lamp posts and mail boxes in consistent places by answering questions such as,"Do I put the maiboxes always on the side or on the front of the house?" Box up your coast lines and cliffs just a tad more to give them a bit of pokemon feel. Then do adjustments such as making the boardwalk straight and the junctions between paths uniform and clear. Maps need to look almost overly simple from above because they need to look on screen.
There are more errors in regard to the region and other things but I'll leave that for another post. Right now, I made a large number of edits to your map to show most of my points (except the mailbox and lampposts) in effect. It also has no light house because that whole bottom section made the map too big, however one can be added in the water or somewhere on the pier later.
