>>40464655I understand your frustration, you would think developers who have been essentially making the same game for 20 years would refine their formula endlessly, but instead they throw out random, good ideas, leave them half baked, then get rid of them in the next game. The weirdest thing is the kind of requests fans have aren't even particularly difficult, no one is asking for anything outlandish that would take a ton of devtime, just for Gamefreak to put some thought into their mechanics instead of just slapping a "you can't catch this" bandaid so they don't have to think of a better, in lore solution and turn a development problem into a fun experience for the player.
While the dex cut and bad graphics are very blatant examples as to why Gamefreak is a bad dev studio, I think tiny little nuggets of incompetence and laziness like this are the real reason people have grown to hate Gamefreak, because you can find a million examples all throughout the series of mechanics that are bad but could have been excellent if Gamefreak actually cared enough to spend another few hours refining them instead of throwing them in the game just so they could have another "feature" to show off in a trailer.
